The Camden Watch Company GMT No.27 watch boasts a steel case with a white dial and tan leather strap. Named for Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), it is a contemporary homage to the rich maritime history of Greenwich, and Great Britain.
By the mid-1850s, almost all public clocks in Britain were set to Greenwich Mean Time and it finally became Britain’s legal standard time in 1880. It is the yearly average (or ‘mean’) of the time each day when the Sun crosses the Prime Meridian at the Royal Observatory Greenwich. In 1884 the Greenwich Meridian was recommended as the Prime Meridian of the World. GMT is still the legal time in Britain in the winter, used by the Met Office, Royal Navy and BBC World Service.

About The Camden Watch Company
Each of The Camden Watch Company models is inspired by Camden in London. The watches, No. 24, No. 27, No. 29, No. 88 and No. 253, are named after London bus routes that run through Camden Town, with the No. 24 being the oldest unchanged route in the whole of London.
The watches house the finest quality Japanese quartz movements, and every other element of the watch, from the strap, to the dial to the watch crown is designed, scribbled, sketched, reworked and refined in the company's Camden Town office.
